Black Antique Side Table Stool Limoges Box

Done in black with antique lines, this little piece could serve as a side table, a basin stand or a stool, depending on how you imagine it. It is a hand-painted porcelain Limoges box made in Limoges, France, for fans of period furniture in miniature.

Three Uses, One Silhouette

Before modern plumbing, a basin stand held the wash bowl in every bedroom. A small stool or side table did a dozen jobs around the house. This black antique form recalls all of them, which gives collectors room to place it wherever it suits their miniature rooms best.

Black Lacquer Mood

The dark color gives the piece a formal, almost lacquered feel, and it sits well beside the black antique sofa from the same style family. Together they make the start of a dramatic little parlor.

Small Furnishings, Big Personality

• Hand-painted porcelain from Limoges, France
• A good companion for a miniature furniture or antiques collection
• A clever present for an antiques dealer, restorer or furniture maker

Woodworkers, furniture restorers and anyone who loves hunting for antiques at estate sales will appreciate the subject. Place it on a bookcase beside other miniature furniture, on a vanity, or on a real side table where the full size and the tiny version can be compared.
