Lighter Shaped Porcelain Limoges Box with Painted Dog

Shaped like a pocket lighter, this porcelain piece carries a painted dog on its face, a playful nod to two of life's old companions. It is a hand-painted porcelain Limoges box from Limoges, France, and despite its form it is purely decorative.

A Faithful Friend on the Desk

Lighters were once carried by nearly every gentleman, often engraved or decorated with something personal. This porcelain version swaps engraving for a painted dog portrait, making it a charming curiosity for anyone who gathers both smoking accessories and canine subjects.

Den and Study Companions

• Hand-painted porcelain from Limoges, France
• A clever crossover for a dog or vintage smoking accessory collection
• Pairs with pipes, cigar boxes and hunting dog pieces

Best in Show Presents

Dog owners, breeders and anyone who still keeps a vintage lighter collection will get a kick out of this one. It makes a fun Father's Day or retirement present, and it looks right at home on a study desk, a den bookshelf or a bar cart beside an old ashtray. Dog show participants and trainers are another natural audience.

Since it is all porcelain, it is meant purely for display, a small conversation piece rather than a working lighter. The combination of an everyday object and a beloved pet gives it plenty of personality.
