Famous for their intricate designs and saturated earth tones, traditional Persian carpets use yarn dyed with plants such as onions, madder, sumac, and indigo. When the yarn is dyed in batches, the rug will have beautiful deviations in color, known as abrash. Low-growing Persian Carpet Zinnia, with its range of burgundies and golds, evokes the colors of these rugs and the relationship between plants and textile artists.
